Kardzhali Dam - it is beautiful, big, dam in Eastern Rhodopes. Its altitude from 331 m. suggests the possibility of fishing for different types of fish, like a stapler, moronage, grandmother, mullet, karakuda, perch, bleak, carp and catfish. The dam was built in 1959 year, as the start of a hydroelectric cascade along the Arda River – Lower Arda, including three Studen Kladenets dams, Kurdzhali, Ivaylovgrad. There are interesting places to visit around the dam, recreation and rest. An ancient Thracian sanctuary city is located nearby – Perperikon
Studen Kladenets Dam – is located along the middle course of the Arda River, to the southeast of the town of Kardzhali, on the border between the municipalities of Kardzhali and Krumovgrad. At high water it reaches a water area of 27,8 km² . This Rhodope dam is an interesting destination for hiking and walking in nature and a favorite place for many anglers. Its construction has begun in the distance 1955 Mr. and is one of the old dams in Bulgaria. It assumes, presence of many fish and trophy specimens of catfish. Carp is also caught in it, perch and wrasse and others.
Maglene Dam - is a small dam in the Eastern Rhodopes with a volume of up to 8 million. cubic. is located next to the village. Fog, Kirkovo municipality, on 70 km. from Kardzhali and on 240 km. from Overnight. Maglene Reservoir has sloping and easily accessible banks and is a good place for secluded fishing. There are no built-up tourist bases and sites nearby. A favorite place for lovers of wild camping and tent trips in nature.
